The programme gives 16–18 year old students the opportunity to work alongside organisations already creating positive change, exploring themes including sustainability, social justice, systems thinking and meaningful employment. I produced, directed and edited a short documentary-style film capturing the energy and ideas behind the programme. Filmed across two fast-paced workshop days, the project involved capturing interviews and conversations with students, educators and changemakers. The edit became an important part of the storytelling process. With hours of interview footage to work through, the challenge was to find the connections between different voices and perspectives, shaping them into a concise narrative that reflected the optimism, collaboration and ambition at the heart of Meaningful Futures. The final film was created to help communicate the programme's vision and support its future growth. Play Video Play Video 02:20 A Day Of Nature Restoration The UK government has committed to protecting and restoring 30% of land and sea for nature by 2030 — but the real challenge lies in improving the condition of existing landscapes, not just protecting them. This event is part of that shift. Bringing together organisations, businesses, and volunteers, the day focused on hands-on restoration — with 50 people planting around 1,000 trees to help regenerate natural scrub habitat in the South Downs. Delivered as part of the Weald to Waves initiative led by Knepp Wildland Foundation, the project aims to create a 100-mile nature corridor across Sussex, reconnecting fragmented habitats and supporting biodiversity recovery. In collaboration with 1% for the Planet, Forests Without Frontiers, and Westerlands Farm, the day highlights how businesses can play a role by offering staff time to engage directly with nature. For participants, it’s an opportunity to step away from the office, connect with others, and contribute to something tangible. For nature, it’s both immediate restoration and longer-term support through awareness and funding. Small actions — like a day spent planting trees — can form part of a much larger movement towards nature recovery. Using AI generated visuals, this film explores what this extinct bird might have looked like in the wild. Produced over two days, the visuals and voiceover were generated with AI. The script, editing, sound design and overall art direction were developed by me. Natural history is an area where AI visualisation can open up new storytelling possibilities for species and events we can no longer film.
