TV Logging

Logging is the process of carefully reviewing and labelling all incoming rushes, creating clear and accurate transcripts, and organising this material into a comprehensive document for the producer, director and editor. This allows them to quickly understand the content, identify key narrative threads and begin shaping the story in the edit.

While working on Cornelia Parker, I was responsible for managing the logging workflow from start to finish. This included meticulously cataloguing hours of footage, noting interviews, visuals, and relevant story beats, and ensuring everything was easy to navigate for the wider post-production team. My goal was always to make the editor’s job as smooth as possible by delivering organised, reliable, and intuitive logs that supported the creative direction of the film.
