The Kelp Summit 2025: Progress Beyond Protection was the UK’s first-ever national conference on kelp ecology, hosted by the Sussex Kelp Recovery Project (SKRP) in partnership with the Environment Agency. It took place on April 2–3, 2025, at the Attenborough Centre, University of Sussex, Brighton.

Over 200 scientists, conservationists, policymakers, and practitioners from across the UK and abroad came together to share research insights and develop strategies to support kelp forest recovery.
